How can we resource our own activism?

SOUTH ASIA 8 MIN READ

Autonomous Resourcing: How can we resource our own activism? While we advocate for more and better resources for feminist movements, we must also name and claim the numerous and powerful ways feminist movements fuel social change with our own resources. In partnership with feminist activists from Argentina, Costa Rica, Georgia, and Indonesia, AWID co-curated a conversation on feminist experiences and learning on how to mobilize resources that are autonomous, and self-generated by and for feminist movements. Sharing their skills and knowledge with us, feminist activists included: Lucia (“Luti”) Brenes from Beso Diverso, Eka Imerlishvili from Independent Feminist Network of Georgia, Nani Zulminarni from Pekka, and Victoria Tesoriero from the National Campaign for Legal Abortion. The conversation was moderated by Tenzin Dolker from AWID. Autonomous resources: how can activists bring resources to our own activism? As we advocate for greater and more appropriate resources for feminist movements, we must also name and claim the many powerful ways in which feminist movements are fueling social change, with their own resources. In partnership with feminist activists from Argentina, Costa Rica, Georgia and Indonesia, AWID co-hosted a discussion on feminist experiences and knowledge of empowered and self-generated resource mobilization by and for feminist movements. Sharing their skills and knowledge with us, feminist activists included: Lucia (“Luti”) Brenes of Beso Diverso, Eka Imerlishvili from Independent Feminist Network of Georgia, Nani Zulminarni from Pekka, and Victoria Tesoriero from National Campaign for Legal Abortion. The discussion was moderated by Tenzin Dolker of AWID. Between the feminist activists who compared their skills and knowledge with their estuvieron: Lucia (“Luti”) Brenes from Beso Diverso, Eka Imerlishvili from the Red Feminista Independiente de Georgia, Nani Zulminarni from Pekka, and Victoria Tesoriero from the Campaña Nacional por el Aborto Legal. Tenzin Dolker of AWID moderates the conversation.
